Suzette @ Esplanade

If you have heard about Lola’s Cafe, then I’m sure you will want to know more about this new Dessert Bar at Esplanade. The owner of Lola’s Cafe opened a new Dessert Bar named Suzette. Conveniently located at Esplanade, this dessert bar offers a wide scrumptious of desserts and savory menus that are all so heavenly.

Yet, Suzette is not like any other ordinary cafes or dessert bars. Starting from 5th November 2016, you could rent a picnic basket and a mat with a deposit of $50 to go for a picnic! How unconventional right?

Suzette Picnic

Suzette Picnic

I got to have a wonderful picnic experience with their new picnic concept. I love the idea of having an outdoor meal with nature.

Pulled Duck Burger

Pulled Duck Burger

Pulled Duck Burger. Sure it will be messy when having this. But, the shredded duck meat was pleasantly sweet. It was certainly refreshing.

Quinoa Rice Bowl

Quinoa Rice Bowl

My personal favorite, Quinoa Rice Bowl with Chicken, Guacamole, Corn & Chilli Lime Dressing. I think that the chicken was well-grilled. Paired with the guacamole and dressing, it was flavorful and so delish! I totally prefer Quinoa to Brown Rice. Still, Quinoa is as healthy as Brown Rice. So I was glad that they used Quinoa.

Passion Fruit and Basil Cheese

Passion Fruit and Basil Cheese

For dessert, I got to try out Passion Fruit and Basil Cheesecake. It was fabulously exotic!

From top to bottom, the creator of this dessert certainly a whole lot of thought it too! I was told that only the whipped cream was infused with Basil and not the whole cake itself as some people might not be so fond of the flavor. Then, I was amazed by a wonderful combination of Passion Fruit and Cheese together. Just you think it can’t get any special, the crust was made with a very unusual ingredient. I can’t tell you what is it but, you got to try it out!

Coffee Hazelnut Tart

Coffee Hazelnut Tart

If you love Nutella, you got to try this out yeah!

Coffee Hazelnut Tart, lovely as always. A mocha nutty crust, hard yet crumbly soft! A little ironic I know but that is how I am going to describe it. The filling was wonderful and aromatic too! Surely a rich and decadent dessert, if that’s what you are looking for.

Banana Earl Grey Cake

Banana Earl Grey Cake

Dense fudgy Banana-flavored & Earl Grey Cake covered with luscious smooth Banana-Flavored almost-caramelized buttercream, that’s a lot of banana to represent this cake.

Something different if you are feeling adventurous, especially if you are deeply in love with banana.

Lemon Meringue Tart

Lemon Meringue Tart

Lemon Meringue Tart, a good balance of sour and sweet deems a good tart. I’m sure this will satisfy most people, but I find a little just a little more sourish will do my liking. Nevertheless, I still find that they have one of the best Lemon Meringue Tart in town.

Raspberry Loaf Cake with Lemon Curd

Raspberry Loaf Cake with Lemon Curd

Raspberry Loaf with Lemon Curd may sound rather uncommon to us Singaporeans, but actually a very popular combination elsewhere in the world. Try it out yourself and you will know why. At the very least, I’m sure that a loaf cake won’t go wrong.

Acai Smoothie Bowl

Acai Smoothie Bowl

Simple and light Acai Smoothie Bowl. If you ain’t looking anything to devour down a rather heavy meal, maybe you could grab a bowl of Acai Smoothie from there. Topped with fresh fruit and yummy-limous crumble, simple, light and refreshing.

Drinks

Drinks

Chocolate drink is my favorite among these three. Nevertheless, all three of them are very rich and fragrant.

(Giveaway 1) Fruit Pastry Cake with PushPan

Fruit Pastry Cake with PushPan

I love a good coffee cake. A coffee cake means a cake that goes well with a cup of coffee. Isn’t such a beauty when you add some sliced fruits on top of it?

Today’s recipe will be, Fruit Pastry Cake with PushPan. I have used PushPan tin for this recipe and I can tell you, releasing the cake was a breeze.

Fruit Pastry Cake

As you guys have known already, I don’t fancy frosted cake. I like classic old butter cake or simply just plain.

A delicious classic butter cake, with a hint of sweet almond and a generous amount of fresh fruits scattered on top of the cake. Finish with a dusting of icing sugar before serving. Give me a slice and I’m ready!

Fruit Pastry Cake

Look at those lovely fresh strawberries I have picked. I went to Perth last week and went to strawberry picking. I was lucky enough to be able to harvest as the season for strawberry has just only started there.

There’s a giveaway at the end of this blog post, so stay tuned.

Fruit Pastry Cake

Pushpan

Look at how easy I remove the cake from the tin with PushPan. PushPan is a high-quality loose-based cake pan that is 100% watertight and leak-proof due to its integrated silicone seal on the edge of the loose base. it is especially great of you are baking a cheesecake in a water bath without the need of wrapping aluminum foil around it.

Kitchenary is kind enough to giveaway to my followers one 8-inch PushPan Tin and one Tovolo Spatula.

Giveaway details at the end of this post.

 * This giveaway is opened to Singapore citizens and all people residing in Singapore. An eligible participant must be an individual and agree to abide by these terms and conditions. Entry to this competition is free.

Oh My Tian @ Boon Keng – A Singapore Version of Wonderland

Oh My Tian

Oh My Tian

Got to try out Oh My Tian‘s new menu last month. I felt that some of their new dishes will certainly make you feeling OMG.

Oh My Tian

Oh My Tian

When I stepped into this Carnival-themed cafe, it really felt Oh My Tian Ah. In other words, I meant that the place was majestic and wonderland-liked.

Oh My Tian

Oh My Tian

Strong colors you thought that would mismatch with one another actually complements well. Not your usual cafes.

Milkshakes from Heaven

Milkshakes from Heaven

Their new Milkshakes from Heaven feels exotic with their Blue and Brown. The Blue also known as Sea Salt Gula felt a little lacking of flavors. Definitely can be better.

However, the Brown, which is also known as Chocolate Caramel was a bomb! It has deep caramel flavor that makes you wanna keep drinking! Not too sweet, yet rich and satisfying.

The Effiel Tower

The Effiel Tower

Quite special, huh? It was actually classic Earl Grey Tea with Caramel Konjac Jelly topped it off with Vanilla Ice Cream.

Greeny Protein

Greeny Protein

I think you should take a look at their other dishes when dining here. Their salad wasn’t exactly special and it shouldn’t be the reason for you to come here. In other words, come Oh My Tian cafe to try their specialty dishes instead.

Dory Voyage

Dory Voyage

This was damn good! Glorious Beer-battered Charcoal Dory Fish with rich creamy Salted Egg Yolk Sauce. Not only the fact that it looks so unconventional and striking, it’s well-seasoned and full of flavors. I highly recommend you guys to order this!

Oeuf Crossiant

Oeuf Croissant

Oeuf Croissant, infused with Salted Egg Yolk Sauce. Instead of a sweet Salted Egg Yolk Sauce you get from other cafes, Oh My Tian serves it quite savory. What you get from the Dory Voyage, is what you will be going to get from this croissant. I actually prefer Oh My Tian’s Salted Egg Yolk Croissant to other cafes because it can be eaten as a main course. Delightful!

Bonjour Dejeuner

Bonjour Dejeuner

Bonjour Dejeuner consist of Croissant, Turkey Bacon, Chicken Sausage, Leafy Greens, and Scrambled Eggs. Simple, and right up straight forward. You can never go wrong.

Hot Summer

Hot Summer

At a first glance, you will think that this is Ice Cream Sandwich Cookie. Yet, after a bite of this dessert, you will realize that it is not your typical dessert. The ‘cookie’ base is actually Chinese Fried Bun. I got to try out with Mango Ice Cream and Salted Strawberry Ice Cream.

I love both of their Ice Creams, especially the Salted Strawberry Ice Cream. So unusual, yet so unbelievably pairing. However, I don’t fancy the Chinese Fried Bun because it was a little oily for me.

Oh My Tian

Get your hair styled in Seoul, Korea with CCA Hair

CCA Hair 까 @ Myeongdong

CCA Hair 까 @ Myeongdong

I went to Seoul last month for a short getaway and decided to do my hair there. I have heard great reviews about CCA Hair and their reasonable prices as compared to other salons in Korea. They also have a few outlets in Seoul! Since I stayed in Myeongdong, I visited their outlet there.

I actually didn’t notice their salon as I walked pass as it looks absolutely nothing like a hair salon store. I was expecting their shop to be a just as typical salon. Nevertheless, the beautiful doodles and graffiti does stand out and feels certainly hipster!

Upon entering the store, I was immediately greeted and asked what was I looking for. Afterward, they brought us to a coffee table to allow us to consult with our hairstylist what hairstyle we were looking for.

Though the hairstylists working there have limited English, there are one or two that could speak fluent Mandarin. I was amazed by their services as compared to the hair salons in Singapore. I was offered the choice of Coffee or Tea, followed by some Choco Pie while waiting for my turn.

After discussing with my hair stylist what I should have, I had decided to go for a wavy Dandy Perm with Shiseido Treatment.

It was a very different experience as compared to Singapore because you have to move from one station to the other for every procedure. From washing to cutting, to treating and perming.  I really like how they attached a plastic shield to protect my face during the whole process. Though my hair stylist was very stylish, he was camera-shy and dislike taking photos. In spite of that, he was very friendly and professional!

Look at both at my Sister-in-laws. For girls, you get to two people to help you out. So good right!

Look at the final result. Gorgeous! I love how it turned out.

I have actually permed my hair before but with the Shiseido Treatment, my hair turned out baby soft after the perm! It certainly does not look frizzy or dry. If you are in Korea, you should definitely consider getting your hair done!

I was told that they also have an outlet in Singapore! If you feeling like getting your hair done, yet not going to Seoul you should totally check their store at Far East Plaza instead!

They display their prices online (both for KR and SG), so do check it out!

Dallas Restaurant & Bar @ Suntec City Sky Garden

Dallas Restaurant & Bar

Dallas Restaurant & Bar

Suntec has been offering a wide variety of restaurants and Dallas is one of it you should totally check it out. Dallas is a good place to hangout as the bar/bistro concept restaurant offer casual dining ambiance for your after-work drinks and a glorious city view.

Pineapple Punch and Cherry Peach Cooler

Pineapple Punch and Cherry Peach Cooler

Refreshing mocktails before dinner starts. Didn’t want to take alcohol as it was a weekday.

Snapper Fish Tacos

Snapper Fish Tacos

For starters, I got to try out Snapper Fish Tacos. The fish fillets were lightly battered fried till crispy golden brown. Paired with lovely cheesy nacho cheese, pineapple chutney and a finishing of lime juice. It was heavenly amazing. I love it!

BBQ Chicken Parm

BBQ Chicken Parm

Next, I got to try out BBQ Chicken Parm. Pan-fried chicken breast, wrapped with grilled bacon and caramelized onions, and topped with a generous amount of melted mozzarella cheese.

BBQ Barramundi

BBQ Barramundi

This got to be my favorite main dish, BBQ Barramundi. Crispy skin, yet tenderly soft meat, served with Garlic Mayonnaise and a finishing squeeze of lemon juice. It’s a great choice, yum!

Meat Platter

Meat Platter

When you are in Dallas, you should totally try our their Meat Platter when dining with your friends. Though this Meat Platter is for 2, I find that it is more suitable for 4 people. The Meat Platter consists of Braised Pork Ribs, Australian Lamb, Prime Rib, and Roasted Chicken. It comes with Mint Jelly, Mushroom Sauce, and Black Pepper Sauce. The Mint Jelly goes delightfully with the Lamb Cutlets, while the other sauces should be paired with the Roasted Chicken.

Keylime Pie

Keylime Pie

If you love sourish dessert, this is for you. I highly recommend you to get a slice of Keylime Pie to share at the end of your meal here in Dallas as it was very zesty and sharp.

Warm Chocolate Brownie

Warm Chocolate Brownie

THIS IS THE BEST BROWNIE I EVER HAD! TRUST ME! It was so rich and indulgent, even I was embarrassed with my own brownie recipes. I was told that all their desserts were made in-house, I wonder why they did not open a brownie shop because this brownie really deserves some recognition.

Apple Pie

Apple Pie

Lastly, I also got to try their Apple Pie. I do like the Cinnamon Apple filling. Yet, the crust was a little too soft and lacks flavor.
