Steamed White Rice with a Rice Cooker (饭)

Okay I know it sounds stupid to teach you how to cook rice in a rice cooker, but some of my friends just asked me about it. But anyway, the perfect ratio of rice is to water is 1:1.2. So keep that in mind and you will make perfect rice every time in any occasion.

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup of rice (I'm using jasmine rice)
  2. 1.2 cups of water
Instructions
  1. Using the measuring cup that came along with your rice cooker, measure the amount of rice you need.
  2. Rinse and wash the rice. Remove any grains or dirt that is floating. Drain it and repeat another 2 more times. You need to wash the rice at least 3 times.
  3. Add in your measured water into the pot then, bring it to the rice cooker and click 'start' button.
  4. Once it's cooked, wait for at least 15 minutes before opening the lid. This will change the texture of the rice which makes it tender.
  5. Serve in a plate well.
Notes
  1. Leftovers can be refrigerate for a few days.
  2. Remember the ratio rice is to water, 1:1.2
  3. E.g. 2.5 cups of rice, you will need to add 3 cups of water to cook.
