Steamed White Rice with a Rice Cooker (饭)
Okay I know it sounds stupid to teach you how to cook rice in a rice cooker, but some of my friends just asked me about it. But anyway, the perfect ratio of rice is to water is 1:1.2. So keep that in mind and you will make perfect rice every time in any occasion.

Ingredients
- 1 cup of rice (I'm using jasmine rice)
- 1.2 cups of water
Instructions
- Using the measuring cup that came along with your rice cooker, measure the amount of rice you need.
- Rinse and wash the rice. Remove any grains or dirt that is floating. Drain it and repeat another 2 more times. You need to wash the rice at least 3 times.
- Add in your measured water into the pot then, bring it to the rice cooker and click 'start' button.
- Once it's cooked, wait for at least 15 minutes before opening the lid. This will change the texture of the rice which makes it tender.
- Serve in a plate well.
Notes
- Leftovers can be refrigerate for a few days.
- Remember the ratio rice is to water, 1:1.2
- E.g. 2.5 cups of rice, you will need to add 3 cups of water to cook.
