Be sure to dip the fish in the various Sambal sauces for that extra spicy kick.

YUN NANS (云海肴) is choosing Singapore as the place to open its first store in 10 years.
The flagship outlet will be located in the new Jewel Changi Airport. The restaurant specialises in highland cuisine, there are seven tropical belts in Yunnan. The highest measures 6,000 metres above sea level. Free from pollution, the natural terrain teems with wild porcini, wild black truffle, wheat pumpkin (green pumpkin).
YUN NANS’s signature dish is the Steamed Pot Chicken Soup. The main ingredient consists of a special breed of black feet chickens and is brewed using a unique technique that does not require a single drop of water. Instead, the chicken is pressure-steamed for three hours. The soup is delicate, and robust in flavour. At the new YUN NANS outlet, the Yunnan Rice Noodles in Prawn Broth with Black Truffle is exclusively available in Singapore.
A concept by Singapore-based restaurant chain Paradise Group, Paradise Classic focuses on Nanyang-style cuisines. These dishes have been greatly influenced by the availability of local ingredients and spices.
Signature dishes here include the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Seafood Broth Seafood Pot (S$69.80). The seafood broth is boiled for more than six hours and filled with treasures of the sea including crabs, prawns and squid. Each mouthful of soup envelopes the palate and refresh the senses. Not to forget, the French Bean with Preserved Turnip and Dried Sakura Ebi ($16.80). A dish with various textures, crisp and crunchy, this is a dish that will please everyone on the table.
Beauty In The Pot is the only hotpot restaurant in Changi Airport. A concept by Singapore based restaurant chain Paradise Group, long queue are a common sight come dinnertime.
Inspired by “JEWEL” and the glamour of air travel. It exhibits art disco style, symbolising luxury, glamour, with pastel tiffany blue and brass dominating the colour scheme, the restaurant is set in a jewel box with gracious lines and gorgeous furnishing. Beauty in a pot serves six different nourishing soup bases that promise rich flavours and nutritional benefits. Diners can choose between a single pot, twin pot or a quart pot.
The signature Beauty Collagen Broth is my personal favourite. Packed with rich and sweet flavours, this pot of goodness is boiled for many hours with ingredients such as pork bone, pig’s trotters, chicken and chicken feet etc. As such the broth has a thick consistency and is packed with collagen. Enjoy the delicious broth with must-have items such as Homemade Fish Tofu (S$2.20/piece), made with yellowtail fish, soya bean and egg white all blended to perfection. The sweetness of the fish coupled with the smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture perfect to cook in all types of broths.

The Chicken’s Rollin’ is one of Bugis Café signature dishes that you should try it out when you are here. Inspired by the local Hainanese Chicken Rice, this dish is made into a rice roll and then deep fried to give you a crispy outer layer. It certainly pairs really well with a drink!
Trio Golden Cups (Kueh Pie Tee) – Bugis Café – Outdoor Beers and Delights @ Studio M Hotel Singapore
The Trio Golden Cups (Kueh Pie Tee) are actually a little different from the traditional Kueh Pie Tee you usually get. Here at Bugis Café, they replaced it with Chicken and Satay Sauce. Surprisingly, the combination complements quite well with the tartlet.
Bugis Café – Outdoor Beers and Delights @ Studio M Hotel Singapore
Kam Heong Chick, Just Spam La and Hou Yu Pi have a kick of spice and are perfect to go with their craft beers! It was so addictive!
“Belly-Nice’ Pork – Bugis Café – Outdoor Beers and Delights @ Studio M Hotel Singapore
If you feeling extremely hungry and want something filling, Bugis Café also offers a wide array of main course dishes other than bites for you to savor. I got to try out their “Belly-Nice” Pork which was braised pork belly with rice and it was alright. The pork belly was juicy and the tau pok was busting with flavourful when you bite into it. I like my rice to be ‘wet’, so the next time I order it, I’ll request for some extra gravy to go along with.
Chick On Stick – Bugis Café – Outdoor Beers and Delights @ Studio M Hotel Singapore
Another fancy way of saying Satay, Chick On Stick is no doubt, our local grilled chicken skewer. Paired with the Peanut Satay Sauce, it can never go wrong!
“Curry Your Favour” Chicken – Bugis Café – Outdoor Beers and Delights @ Studio M Hotel Singapore
“Curry Your Favour” Chicken is your typical Indian curry instead of the Nyonya style. You get to choose to go with Roti Prata (which goes really very well with the curry), Rice or Noodles. If you are feeling hungry and want something localicious, make sure to order this to satisfy your craving!
There’s always something exciting happening at Yishun. But, this time it’s only the good that’s happening. Northpoint City now features over 100 different food outlets, you will be spoilt by the choices available when dining here. I had the pleasure of checking out some of the restaurants here with my friends and the experience was amazing! The mall was nicely decorated and the dining ambiance was lovely with its hipster-ish light bulbs.
Concretely located next to Yishun MRT Station, the mall has just opened its new South Wing. The Makan Town covers over 40,000 square feet of the South Wing’s basement, alongside with the ever so popular food court choices, Bagus also located at South Wing and Kopitiam located at North Wing. To entice and make you hungry, I will be sharing with you my experiences here at the new Northpoint City!
Northpoint City – Gyoza-ya
Japanese cuisine lovers should definitely check out Gyoza-Ya where it combines the concepts of Gyoza (Japanese dumplings) and Jya jya Men (Black Bean Noodles) together when dining. The Gyoza was handmade by their in-house master chef and taste amazingly delicious! I highly recommend you to try out their Pan-Fried Gyoza with Mentaiko Miso. It was so sinful!
They also serve sushi starting at SGD$0.80 per piece, my personal favorite got to be their Salmon Sushi, Foie Gras Sushi, and Eel Sushi.
Northpoint City – Gyoza-ya

2. Pizza Maru
Northpoint City – Pizzamaru
This got me really excited! Pizza maru is one of the most symbolic pizza brands in Korea, with more than 620 stores across Korea. It is the first in Singapore here at Northpoint City and you surely will feel Korean-ish when dining here with pizzas and fried chickens.
Their premium pizzas are made with patented Green Tea Wellbeing Dough that has fermented for over 48 hours with chlorella, barley, and 12 other healthy grains. This not only serves as healthier options for us but also satisfies our cravings.
My personal favorite got to be their Mango Ocean Premium Pizza where you bite into generous chunks of mangoes accompanied with shrimps, scallops on the freshly baked healthy bread base. It was such a perfect match in heaven.
Northpoint City – Pizzamaru

3. PatBingSoo Korean Dining House
Northpoint City – PatBingSoo Korean Dining House
If pizza and fried chicken ain’t your thing, do not worry! PatBingSoo offers wonderful Korean food with its first-of-its-kind unique dining concept designed to make you feel like you are in one of the streets of Korea. Inspired by Myeongdong Night Market, diners will find themselves embarked on a fun and unique journey here at Northpoint City.
My personal favorite has to be their Army Stew! It was so good, the broth was flavorful and I really like the fact that they used different types of rice cakes and some of them even had sweet potato filling inside. I can see that the owner of PatBingSoo carefully curated the menu and appreciate their effort to bring Korean food closer to us.

4. Big Fish Small Fish
Northpoint City – Big Fish Small Fish
I’m sure those who stay in Punggol will be familiar with Big Fish Small Fish. It was first opened as a container-style cafe in Punggol and I’m happy to say that they opened their second outlet here in Northpoint City! While the cafe tries to retain its concept by bringing in the elements of a shipping container into the mall, patrons can now seat comfortably as the place is fully air-conditioned.
What’s good here? You should totally go for their Salmon! The fish and chips restaurant offers up to 6 types of fishes for diners to choose from. But, I’m in love with their Salmon as the meat was soft and tender, covered with a crispy fried batter on the outside! Also, did I mention that there would be free-flow of sauces for dipping!? Choose from unlimited free-flow of Cheese, Curry Mayo, and XO Mayo sauce.
Address: 930 Yishun Ave 2, #02-132/133, North Point Shopping Centre, 769098 Contact: 6513 9533 Opening Hours:11:00am – 10:00pm (Mon – Sun)
5. Guzman Y Gomez
Northpoint City – Guzman Y Gomez
Let’s give the Mexcian something to ‘taco’ ’bout!
Burrito, burrito, burrito! The humble wrap is arguably the most popular Mexican dish at Guzman Y Gomez and is now here at Northpoint City! Enjoy the authentic flavor of Mexican with a generous combination of ingredients that have been hand-picked fresh by the in-house staff when you order your very own burrito.
But if you ain’t feeling for a burrito, do not fret as you could go for their rice bowl option with all the same ingredients, without the tortilla. Perfect for anyone looking for a lighter option!
But, I got to say, when I’m here at Guzman Y Gomez I would always go for their 3-Piece Hard Shell Tacos! I do like my tortilla to be crunchy. It’s like having corn chips and tacos at the same time!
Address: 930 Yishun Ave 2, #01-176, North Point Shopping Centre, 769098 Contact: 6254 4979 Opening Hours: 11:30am – 10:00pm (Mon – Sun)
Northpoint City – Collin’s
Now available at Northpoint City, Collin’s would be on almost everyone’s mind when it comes to premium Western cuisine at affordable prices. A double-award winning brand at the Singapore Prestige Brand Award 2017 for Promising Brands and Most Popular Promising Brands, it’s no wonder the hearts of many Singaporeans when it comes to dining out. I’m always intrigued by their delicious well-seasoned grills and wide-selection of seafood to choose from.
If you ask me, I really liked their Charcoal Grilled Pork Belly! The meat was well-flavored and it was super juicy! It was very aromatic as if it was just been grilled on a traditional charcoal grill and it certainly was! What’s more, if you are feeling hungry late at night, they are opened until 12am (last order 11pm), so there’s always a reason for Collin’s!
Northpoint City – Collin’s
Address: 930 Yishun Ave 2, #01-113, North Point Shopping Centre, 769098 Contact: 6481 9036 Opening Hours: 10:0am – 12:00am (Mon – Sun)
Located at Cavan Road, the.twenty.cavan is a new restaurant & bar that features Asian Fusion dishes that are certainly special and unique. The interior is based on a rustic theme and you will certainly feel like a hipster when dining in there. Yet, you will still get that exquisite feel.
Though the restaurant focuses on serving a wide variety of beers and wines, I wasn’t feeling good so I opted for their non-alcoholic drinks instead. Spicy Mango was recommended by one of their bartenders and I certainly pleased with that. Served with fresh mint leaves and mangoes, it was very refreshing and revitalizing. However, the mango cubes will a little on the tart side. Still, it wasn’t a problem with me as I enjoyed it.
Garden Green Salad
We started it off with some appetizers. The Garden Green Salad consist of pan-fried prawns, cashew nuts, fresh berries and green chili dressing. I was definitely amazed by the unusual taste it gave me when I had my first bite. I like the fact that they paired the hearty leaves with dragonfruit and goji berries as they marry well together.
You get a choice of three starters or four at a selected price. The platter I had have four different appetizers, Mushroom Skewers which comprises peppercorn-flavoured Portobello and Shiitake mushrooms, Deep-fried Soft Shell Crab with curry chicken floss and Quad Seafood which comprises a top shell, scallop, prawn, baby octopus tossed with mint hot bean sauce served with jellyfish.
Deep-fried Soft Shell Crab with curry chicken floss was one of my favorites among it. Though it may sound very freakish it was actually really good!
Red Rice Braised Pork Ribs
As I mentioned above just now that they feature Asian Fusion items, my first main course was Red Rice Braised Pork Ribs. If you know the Hakka chicken dish made with red glutinous rice wine lees, this is Chef Andrew’s pork ribs version. To be honest, I’m never a big fan of pork ribs and this taste more like the western version of char siew to me.
I’m a big lover of the Hakka chicken dish and char siew rice itself, but the Red Rice Braised Pork Ribs is just weird for me. That being said, I feel that there is some other mains worth coming for!
Canton Roast Chicken
Good classic Roasted Chicken with black rice. You can’t find black rice in many places so I’m really surprised and contented that they chose that as the staple for this dish. Also commonly known as the Emperor’s Rice, it is extremely high in antioxidants, vitamins and very nutrition! Sure it’s going to be a hearty meal.
Chicken Galangal Rice Bowl
Chicken Galangal Rice Bowl is another very hearty main that serves with lots of assorted greens and black rice. This rice bowl was one of my favorite, simple clean eating, yet still so good!
Thick brioche with bacon, pork bratwurst, sauteed button mushrooms and scrambled eggs. The eggs were well made, it’s still gooey and soft. Overall, a very typical big breakfast.
Crispy Fish & Chips
I really liked their version of Fish and Chips as they have used Tilapia fish. The best part was that they had left the skin on, making it more flavorful. Their fish batter isn’t the same as the typical fish and chips batter, I’m not sure what type of flour and ingredients they have used for their fish batter but it was quite good and well-seasoned!
Pumpkin Yam Puree
Pumpkin Yam Puree with Coconut Cream. This is a traditional dessert with a modern twist of the Teochew Orh Nee. It actually has aloe vera and pandan juice mixed into the pumpkin and yam puree to make it more special. Orh Nee lovers should definitely give it a try!
Lemon Pudding with Mixed Berries
I always like to have a refreshing dessert to clean my palate after a delightful feast. Paired with pureed mixed berries, the pudding was lightful tart! It almost felt like I was having some really good creamy yogurt! This Lemon Pudding with Mixed Berries is the way to go.
To sum up, I think they really put in the effort to make something special and extraordinary. If you are around the area, why not pop by to check this place out? They have a great rustic ambiance that will make you feel like you are in a cozy back alley.
If you have the Enertainer 2017, do make sure to use the vouchers as they are one of the participating restaurants!
They offer three 1 for 1 main course Entertainer vouchers in the app. Do note that premium items marked with “P” on their menu are excluded.
Drinkers also can enjoy via their Cheers vouchers which will give you

Situated in Dempsey Hills, Portico Prime offers a Chic & Modern European Restaurant. The interior is simple and industry-styled, yet refined and elegant. It will sure be a lavished experience here.
Roma Tomato Salad
To get things started, I got to try out a few appetizers.
Roma Tomato Salad has two different types of Jamon (also known as Ham in Spanish), it was certainly unusual and I’m not used to the taste. The salad was scattered with Quinoa and Hijiki Seaweed and a finishing of Rock Melon Dressing. Still, I love how the tomatoes go well with the Quinoa and the dressing together.
Pan-seared Hokkaido Scallop with Brown Anchovy Mayo and Crispy Bacon, the scallop was still juicy on the inside and it was well browned. You know it is going to be good!
Pan-seared Foie Gras
Pan-seared Foie Gras, this got to be one of my favorites! Accompanied with Beetroot Puree, Toasted Bread and a fresh mixture of berries, it was indeed dead delicious! The Foie Gras was silky and has a melt in your mouth feel. It was paired really well with the crisp toasted bread and refreshing fruits.
Live Scotland Blue-lipped Mussels
Live Scotland Blue-lipped Mussels. Seasoned with Garlic Confit, White Wine, and Italian Parsley, it was so simple yet so comforting. It has a wonderful aroma, I can really smell the freshness of the ocean as if I was really there. Really good!
Truffle Angel Hair Pasta
Next, some of the main courses of which, I really enjoyed.
Truffle Angel Hair Pasta. Intense and pungent aroma of the truffles, matched with beautiful black Avruga-caviar, crispy Kawa Ebit Shrimps and Ito Togarashi, it will sure to make you render speechless. If I would visit again, I will sure order this as my main course again!
Roasted Chicken Leg
Roasted Chicken Leg with Chili Navy Beans Sauce. The sauce was a little on the salty side if you try it as it. Yet, it marries up perfectly when consumed with the roasted chicken. The chicken was tender and succulent. If you are not sure what you are looking for this classic dish with a slight twist should be alright to try out.
Baked Cod Fish
Baked Cod Fish with Yuzu-flavored foam and crushed Matcha Hazelnuts. This dish was totally bizarre! Not only that the flavors combination was unusual, the dish was presented in a very exotic way. I was astonished to get to try out some flavored foam. However, all the flavors were very mild and you have to slowly savor it to appreciate. I personally feel that even though the dish was outstanding and out of the box, I don’t like the bubbly feel of the foam in my mouth.
Creme Brulee was creamy and well caramelized. I was amused that they added toasted bread on top of the Creme Brulee, certainly something different and some would sure to enjoy it with the creamy sweet custard.
Homemade Sorbet garnished with fresh fruits and granola toppings, it was very refreshing and light. Great to have it after a hearty meal. The flavors I got to try out were Green Apple, Lychee, and Passion Fruit. I really enjoyed all of them as they were not too sweet but sweet enough for me. My liking was the Green Apple, but I told by my other friends that it tasted like baby food (Apple Sauce).
Deconstructed Black Forest
Rich and decadent, Deconstructed Black Forest surely brings me back to the woods in the wonderland! The Chocolate Mousse pairs really well with the creamy cold Gelato.
To sum up, the food was delightful. I can see that the chefs here put in the effort to recreate their dishes for a more special meal for their customers. Since the restaurant is situated in Dempsey Hills, it is quite peaceful and quiet. Additionally, with the beautiful chic interior and wonderful ambiance at night, I would totally come here again in future for a special occasion!

Got to try out Oh My Tian‘s new menu last month. I felt that some of their new dishes will certainly make you feeling OMG.
Oh My Tian
When I stepped into this Carnival-themed cafe, it really felt Oh My Tian Ah. In other words, I meant that the place was majestic and wonderland-liked.
Oh My Tian
Strong colors you thought that would mismatch with one another actually complements well. Not your usual cafes.
Milkshakes from Heaven
Their new Milkshakes from Heaven feels exotic with their Blue and Brown. The Blue also known as Sea Salt Gula felt a little lacking of flavors. Definitely can be better.
However, the Brown, which is also known as Chocolate Caramel was a bomb! It has deep caramel flavor that makes you wanna keep drinking! Not too sweet, yet rich and satisfying.
The Effiel Tower
Quite special, huh? It was actually classic Earl Grey Tea with Caramel Konjac Jelly topped it off with Vanilla Ice Cream.
I think you should take a look at their other dishes when dining here. Their salad wasn’t exactly special and it shouldn’t be the reason for you to come here. In other words, come Oh My Tian cafe to try their specialty dishes instead.
This was damn good! Glorious Beer-battered Charcoal Dory Fish with rich creamy Salted Egg Yolk Sauce. Not only the fact that it looks so unconventional and striking, it’s well-seasoned and full of flavors. I highly recommend you guys to order this!
Oeuf Croissant, infused with Salted Egg Yolk Sauce. Instead of a sweet Salted Egg Yolk Sauce you get from other cafes, Oh My Tian serves it quite savory. What you get from the Dory Voyage, is what you will be going to get from this croissant. I actually prefer Oh My Tian’s Salted Egg Yolk Croissant to other cafes because it can be eaten as a main course. Delightful!
Bonjour Dejeuner consist of Croissant, Turkey Bacon, Chicken Sausage, Leafy Greens, and Scrambled Eggs. Simple, and right up straight forward. You can never go wrong.
At a first glance, you will think that this is Ice Cream Sandwich Cookie. Yet, after a bite of this dessert, you will realize that it is not your typical dessert. The ‘cookie’ base is actually Chinese Fried Bun. I got to try out with Mango Ice Cream and Salted Strawberry Ice Cream.
I love both of their Ice Creams, especially the Salted Strawberry Ice Cream. So unusual, yet so unbelievably pairing. However, I don’t fancy the Chinese Fried Bun because it was a little oily for me.
