Bugis Café – Outdoor Beers and Delights @ Studio M Hotel Singapore
Located in the heart of the Singapore River at Robertson Quay, Bugis Café by Studio M is a new outdoor kiosk that serves craft beers and local delights for you to chill and relax with your friends. The outdoor space is inspired by the past thriving district of Bugis with a vivid and colorful nightlife scene that is rich in its history, delivering you a fun and enjoyable experience.
The Chicken’s Rollin’ – Bugis Café – Outdoor Beers and Delights @ Studio M Hotel Singapore
The Chicken’s Rollin’ is one of Bugis Café signature dishes that you should try it out when you are here. Inspired by the local Hainanese Chicken Rice, this dish is made into a rice roll and then deep fried to give you a crispy outer layer. It certainly pairs really well with a drink!
Trio Golden Cups (Kueh Pie Tee) – Bugis Café – Outdoor Beers and Delights @ Studio M Hotel Singapore
The Trio Golden Cups (Kueh Pie Tee) are actually a little different from the traditional Kueh Pie Tee you usually get. Here at Bugis Café, they replaced it with Chicken and Satay Sauce. Surprisingly, the combination complements quite well with the tartlet.
Bugis Café – Outdoor Beers and Delights @ Studio M Hotel Singapore
Kam Heong Chick, Just Spam La and Hou Yu Pi have a kick of spice and are perfect to go with their craft beers! It was so addictive!
“Belly-Nice’ Pork – Bugis Café – Outdoor Beers and Delights @ Studio M Hotel Singapore
If you feeling extremely hungry and want something filling, Bugis Café also offers a wide array of main course dishes other than bites for you to savor. I got to try out their “Belly-Nice” Pork which was braised pork belly with rice and it was alright. The pork belly was juicy and the tau pok was busting with flavourful when you bite into it. I like my rice to be ‘wet’, so the next time I order it, I’ll request for some extra gravy to go along with.
Chick On Stick – Bugis Café – Outdoor Beers and Delights @ Studio M Hotel Singapore
Another fancy way of saying Satay, Chick On Stick is no doubt, our local grilled chicken skewer. Paired with the Peanut Satay Sauce, it can never go wrong!
“Curry Your Favour” Chicken – Bugis Café – Outdoor Beers and Delights @ Studio M Hotel Singapore
“Curry Your Favour” Chicken is your typical Indian curry instead of the Nyonya style. You get to choose to go with Roti Prata (which goes really very well with the curry), Rice or Noodles. If you are feeling hungry and want something localicious, make sure to order this to satisfy your craving!
A place to taste authentic Chinese cuisine of different local dialect groups under one roof
Wonton Mee – DejaBrew – Authentic Chinese Dialects’ Cuisine Under One Roof
When comes to feasting on different local Chinese cuisines, nowhere else could be more apt than Deja Brew, a cozy café strategically located at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. The punny name of the café gave me a hint that I was about to travel to the past through my taste buds. But I was wrong. The menu, well thought out by the owner and his team, is a fusion of traditions and modernity.
Hakka Salt Baked Chicken Rice – DejaBrew – Authentic Chinese Dialects’ Cuisine Under One Roof
Forget about the overpublicized Hainanese Chicken Rice, make way for Hakka Salt Baked Chicken Rice! The tender chicken thigh and the slightly salted rice were well presented in a brick bowl. Although the rice was slightly drier than the usual, the juiciness of the chicken thigh made up for the dish. A healthy and satisfying dish.
Hainanese Curry Chicken – DejaBrew – Authentic Chinese Dialects’ Cuisine Under One Roof
The Hainanese Curry Chicken here was served in a bread bowl! The boneless curry chicken meat paired with their crispy, yet soft and fluffy bread will not disappoint you. We managed to finish the entire bread bowl, no kidding!
Har Cheong Gai – DejaBrew – Authentic Chinese Dialects’ Cuisine Under One Roof
Har Cheong Gai needs no introduction. The one served here was meaty, crispy and flavourful. If you are craving for some comfort food. This is it.
Hokkien Mee – DejaBrew – Authentic Chinese Dialects’ Cuisine Under One Roof
Row, row, row your boat, here comes the antidote! This is not your regular Hokkien Mee, the noodles were soaked in thick black sauce served with fresh diced fish and clams. A delicious antidote to your hunger and leaving you craving for more!
Deja Brew constantly comes up with new dishes. Rickshaw Noodles and Mee Sua were the latest additions to the menu. If you just want to chill out with some drinks, then you will be impressed by their range of beverages. From traditional kopi to fruit teas, you will definitely find something that you like here.

Kumoya is back with another different character for its seasonal themed cafe. This time, it is based on a Miffy, a female rabbit character that is super adorable. If you have missed out on the previous Cinnamoroll theme, make sure to check out this as it will not last long too! Miffy theme will start from 5th October 2017 to 31 December 2017.
Miffy’s Nice Nacho Cheese Fries and Iced Latte Delight – Miffy Character Themed Cafe – Kumoya
Miffy’s Nice Nacho Cheese Fries and Iced Latte Delight
For the appetizer, we decided to go for Miffy’s Nice Nacho Cheese Fries. I believe the fries were made in-house as the wedges were cut differently, giving that very special and rustic texture. It was very well-prepared, crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. I like the fact that they actually left the skin intact, deepening the flavor of the potatoes. Paired with a generous drizzle of nacho cheese and mayonnaise, I enjoyed a lot!
Splashing Good Fun Japanese Seafood Curry Rice – Miffy Character Themed Cafe – Kumoya
Splashing Good Fun Japanese Seafood Curry Rice
I always enjoy Kumoya’s Japanese Curry with Seafood. Their seafood portions were generous and I feel that they really ace on this dish while still making it look stunning! I feel that this is a must-try dish when you are here for Miffy.
You, Me & Miffy Makes 3 Chicken Katsu Burger – Miffy Character Themed Cafe – Kumoya
You, Me & Miffy Makes 3 Chicken Katsu Burger
Japanese-style Katsu with Chinese bun to pair with. Really adorable!
Miffy Original Orange Soda – Miffy Character Themed Cafe – Kumoya
Miffy Original Orange Soda
How can we miss the Insta-worthy drink? Hahahaha! Their Miffy Orginal Orange Soda was surprisingly better than the previous soda as it has a balance of sweetness and sour citrus flavor. Do note that you should get your camera ready as it melts down really fast!
For desserts, you die die must get their Miffy’s Yuzu Mango Parfait Merriment! It is such a show stopper! Delicious Hokkaido Ice Cream served with creamy custard and buttery crumbles lastly drizzled with yuzu mango syrup. I am already craving for this again!
For something over the top, you could try their Matcha Mountain Azuki Shibuya Toast! Super cute, super green tea. Their bread was toasted to perfection. Each cube was super crispy and buttery. Paired with matcha cream and Azuki paste, I thought I was in the heaven of Japan.
If you are traveling to Seoul, Korea and are looking for cafes to visit, here are some you must not miss!
1. O´sulloc Tea House
O´sulloc Tea House
If you are looking for Green Tea/Matcha flavors, you should totally check this place out! This cafe specializes in Green Tea and has many Green Tea drinks and desserts. I totally love their Green Tea Swiss Roll as the sponge was so soft and delicate, with a hint of Green Tea. It was filled with deliciously refreshingly Green Tea Mousse Cream.
However, I was really disappointed with their ice cream. Maybe, it was only for that day but totally mine was certainly disapproving icy. Yet, the place was very quiet and relaxing. A great place to chill out after a long busy day shopping in Myeongdong.
Nevertheless, if you are dropping by, make sure to get some of their tea products! They have really special tea leaves that you can’t find anywhere else.

2. Thanks Nature Cafe
Thanks Nature Cafe
Beautiful and enchanted, this cafe host 2 cute fluffy white sheep that will sure to make you go feverishly!
Why do you still visit dog or cat cafes when you can visit a sheep cafe? Thanks Nature Cafe sells mainly waffles and drinks, so don’t come here with an empty stomach expecting for the main course! Located just around the station of Hongik University (Hongdae), you could shop around the area after spending a delightful amount of time in the cafe. Clothes here are very affordable, usually starting from 10,000 won for most of them. Most youths like to hang out here! Additionally, there are many street performances in the evening during the weekend.
If you are a Line user, you got to visit Line Friends Cafe & Store when you are here in Seoul. It is considered the largest Line store in the world. The store is 3 levels high and should definitely be considered a tourist attraction!
Here, they offer not only the cafe but a bunch of other cute Line products to browse through. You will be greeted by a huge Brown upon entering the store. But, you do have to queue if you want to take a photo with him though. The basement level holds the themed cafe. I highly recommend you to try out their really adorable macarons! Additionally, you also should roam around the area as there are many other shops there.
Retro American-style, located just around the corner of Garosu-gil just like Line Friends Store and Cafe, it offers really delicious fluffy Lobster Rolls!
There are many variations of Lobster Rolls you can find here. We got to try out a few and my favorite one was the warm Cajun Cheese Lobster Roll. The restaurant is located in the basement alongside with elevated windows and coastal decorations, it made me feel like I was having my meal inside a boat in a nearby port. They were very generous with the amount of lobster meat in their rolls and will sure to please you.

5. Blind Alley
A rare shot with the ever so active Raccoon at Blind Alley
Blind Alley Cafe, as its name suggest, I couldn’t find or take notice the cafe even after walking past for quite a few times! Situated along the street of Cheongpadong just before Sookmyung Women’s University, this is one unique cafe I’m certainly sure you can’t find something similar in Singapore!
WARNING: THIS ANIMAL-THEMED CAFE HAS TWO WILD RACCOONS INSIDE!
Yeap, it is a raccoon cafe! These raccoons are not kept in their cages most of the time. Hence, do expect them to crawl all over you when dining there. They do offer some refreshing smoothies, aromatic cafe latte, and some desserts. The best part is that the food was reasonably priced! Unlike some other animal-themed cafe whereby, the price of a cup of Orange Juice can be exorbitant!
Address:63-20 Cheongpadong 2(i)-ga, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea Phone: +82 2-701-6075
6. 1Q84 Churros
For a quick bite, head down to 1Q84 Churros while shopping in the streets of Ewha Womans University.
You do have to wait awhile for them to prepare the Churros as it will be made to order. Warm crispy Churros with well-coated Cinnamon Sugar is so comforting, especially in the winter. I got to try out their Churros with Cream Cheese spread on it. It so delish!

If you have heard about Lola’s Cafe, then I’m sure you will want to know more about this new Dessert Bar at Esplanade. The owner of Lola’s Cafe opened a new Dessert Bar named Suzette. Conveniently located at Esplanade, this dessert bar offers a wide scrumptious of desserts and savory menus that are all so heavenly.
Yet, Suzette is not like any other ordinary cafes or dessert bars. Starting from 5th November 2016, you could rent a picnic basket and a mat with a deposit of $50 to go for a picnic! How unconventional right?
I got to have a wonderful picnic experience with their new picnic concept. I love the idea of having an outdoor meal with nature.
Pulled Duck Burger
Pulled Duck Burger. Sure it will be messy when having this. But, the shredded duck meat was pleasantly sweet. It was certainly refreshing.
Quinoa Rice Bowl
My personal favorite, Quinoa Rice Bowl with Chicken, Guacamole, Corn & Chilli Lime Dressing. I think that the chicken was well-grilled. Paired with the guacamole and dressing, it was flavorful and so delish! I totally prefer Quinoa to Brown Rice. Still, Quinoa is as healthy as Brown Rice. So I was glad that they used Quinoa.
Passion Fruit and Basil Cheese
For dessert, I got to try out Passion Fruit and Basil Cheesecake. It was fabulously exotic!
From top to bottom, the creator of this dessert certainly a whole lot of thought it too! I was told that only the whipped cream was infused with Basil and not the whole cake itself as some people might not be so fond of the flavor. Then, I was amazed by a wonderful combination of Passion Fruit and Cheese together. Just you think it can’t get any special, the crust was made with a very unusual ingredient. I can’t tell you what is it but, you got to try it out!
Coffee Hazelnut Tart
If you love Nutella, you got to try this out yeah!
Coffee Hazelnut Tart, lovely as always. A mocha nutty crust, hard yet crumbly soft! A little ironic I know but that is how I am going to describe it. The filling was wonderful and aromatic too! Surely a rich and decadent dessert, if that’s what you are looking for.
Banana Earl Grey Cake
Dense fudgy Banana-flavored & Earl Grey Cake covered with luscious smooth Banana-Flavored almost-caramelized buttercream, that’s a lot of banana to represent this cake.
Something different if you are feeling adventurous, especially if you are deeply in love with banana.
Lemon Meringue Tart
Lemon Meringue Tart, a good balance of sour and sweet deems a good tart. I’m sure this will satisfy most people, but I find a little just a little more sourish will do my liking. Nevertheless, I still find that they have one of the best Lemon Meringue Tart in town.
Raspberry Loaf Cake with Lemon Curd
Raspberry Loaf with Lemon Curd may sound rather uncommon to us Singaporeans, but actually a very popular combination elsewhere in the world. Try it out yourself and you will know why. At the very least, I’m sure that a loaf cake won’t go wrong.
Acai Smoothie Bowl
Simple and light Acai Smoothie Bowl. If you ain’t looking anything to devour down a rather heavy meal, maybe you could grab a bowl of Acai Smoothie from there. Topped with fresh fruit and yummy-limous crumble, simple, light and refreshing.
Chocolate drink is my favorite among these three. Nevertheless, all three of them are very rich and fragrant.
It was definitely a pleasant evening with Suzette and their new Picnic Concept. I can see that many people will enjoy this idea during their weekends with their family and friends especially after a long week of work. I too would bring someone I want to spend time with to sit down and enjoy the marvelous evening.
Thanks Suzette for having me, giving such as a great hospitality. Ring them out to find more information about it!
Got to try out Oh My Tian‘s new menu last month. I felt that some of their new dishes will certainly make you feeling OMG.
Oh My Tian
When I stepped into this Carnival-themed cafe, it really felt Oh My Tian Ah. In other words, I meant that the place was majestic and wonderland-liked.
Oh My Tian
Strong colors you thought that would mismatch with one another actually complements well. Not your usual cafes.
Milkshakes from Heaven
Their new Milkshakes from Heaven feels exotic with their Blue and Brown. The Blue also known as Sea Salt Gula felt a little lacking of flavors. Definitely can be better.
However, the Brown, which is also known as Chocolate Caramel was a bomb! It has deep caramel flavor that makes you wanna keep drinking! Not too sweet, yet rich and satisfying.
The Effiel Tower
Quite special, huh? It was actually classic Earl Grey Tea with Caramel Konjac Jelly topped it off with Vanilla Ice Cream.
I think you should take a look at their other dishes when dining here. Their salad wasn’t exactly special and it shouldn’t be the reason for you to come here. In other words, come Oh My Tian cafe to try their specialty dishes instead.
This was damn good! Glorious Beer-battered Charcoal Dory Fish with rich creamy Salted Egg Yolk Sauce. Not only the fact that it looks so unconventional and striking, it’s well-seasoned and full of flavors. I highly recommend you guys to order this!
Oeuf Croissant, infused with Salted Egg Yolk Sauce. Instead of a sweet Salted Egg Yolk Sauce you get from other cafes, Oh My Tian serves it quite savory. What you get from the Dory Voyage, is what you will be going to get from this croissant. I actually prefer Oh My Tian’s Salted Egg Yolk Croissant to other cafes because it can be eaten as a main course. Delightful!
Bonjour Dejeuner consist of Croissant, Turkey Bacon, Chicken Sausage, Leafy Greens, and Scrambled Eggs. Simple, and right up straight forward. You can never go wrong.
At a first glance, you will think that this is Ice Cream Sandwich Cookie. Yet, after a bite of this dessert, you will realize that it is not your typical dessert. The ‘cookie’ base is actually Chinese Fried Bun. I got to try out with Mango Ice Cream and Salted Strawberry Ice Cream.
I love both of their Ice Creams, especially the Salted Strawberry Ice Cream. So unusual, yet so unbelievably pairing. However, I don’t fancy the Chinese Fried Bun because it was a little oily for me.
Oh My Tian
Located near Boon Keng MRT, I feel that if you are adventurous for a different cafe experience, you should totally check this place out! I would definitely bring my favorites here to surprise them with a unique experience soon!
My trip to Jack Cola Cafe @ Paya Lebar Square was pleasant. They offer delicious comfort breakfast sets that are very reasonably priced, yet does not skimp on the quality and quantity of the ingredients.
Distressed Cheesy Ham Toasty consist of classic Ham and pan fried Eggs sandwiched between golden brown French Toast. The French Toast was lightly crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. This cheese and ham toast combination will sure not to go wrong if you don’t know what to go for.
Thick style French Fries drizzled with Truffle Oil and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan Cheese. You got to order this when you are in Jack Cola Cafe as it’s a bargain! This is one of the cheapest you can get in Singapore.
My personal favorite is Jack Cola’s Cafe Popcorn Chicken. Bite-sized Chicken Breast Meat coated with well-seasoned batter, deep-fried till golden brown. The end result is just wonderfully crispy. Yum!
Eggs Ben & Smokey Sam
Perfectly Poached Eggs served with Smoked Salmon and French Toast. The ultimate comfort food! You can actually see that the chef actually used a blowtorch just before serving it! You get the wonderful aroma from the smokey charred surface. So good!
I got to try some of their cakes and this was the one that caught my attention. Not only looks exotic, it has very interesting texture too! On the outer layer, the cake has the sponge-like texture, yet the crust feels a little rubbery. On the inside, it’s filled with delicious mango mousse and sauce. It totally blew my mind, I love it!
Strawberry & Chocolate Classic Milkshakes
They also have really sweet Milkshakes for sweet-lovers. It’s over the top yet reasonably priced!
If you are looking for a hipster yet affordable cafe, this is a great place you should consider. I really enjoy the woody environment. It feels like having a meal in a country-side. Very homey, very cozy.
Looking for a neighbourhood cafe around your area? Flavour Flings Cafe is well-known for their Salted Egg Yolk Croissants and is also halal certified. Conveniently located in Hougang Avenue 1, Flavor Flings is back with a new special menu!
Garlic Mushroom Bruschetta
Firstly, we got to try Garlic Mushroom Bruschetta. A delicious Garlic Bruschetta infused with White Truffle oil, top it off with Mushroom Caviar, Tomato Cubes, Parmesan Cheese and Spring Onions. Truffle lovers will sure to find this satisfying as the flavor is very strong and aromatic! I find that the Bruschetta was very well made. Highly recommended to try it out!
Salted Egg Yolk Fries
For some lovely bites, we got their Salted Egg Yolk Fries. Drizzled with their in-house Salted Egg Yolk Sauce, the fries were also topped with their fragrant Buttered Cereals. I wasn’t expecting the buttery cereals, but it goes really well with the sauce! It reminds me of Cereal Butter Prawns.
Fling’s Noodles V.2.0
Next up, Fling’s Noodles Version 2.0. They have updated their signature Fling’s Noodle. Instead of Spaghetti, they use Fettuccine. Which, I prefer as the garlicky White Cream that is also infused with White Truffle Oil can now better cling onto the pasta. Rich and creamy. Yum!
Vanilla and Thai Milk Tea Ice Cream Sundae
As for dessert, we got to try out Vanilla and Thai Milk Tea Ice Cream Sundae. I find that the Thai Milk Tea Ice Cream was a little icy. Yet, the sweet-scented Vanilla Ice Cream was palatable.
Vanilla and Thai Milk Tea Ice Cream Sundae
Lastly, it was one of my favorite, Creme Brulee. I love the fact that Flavour Flings had used a wider, shorter ramekins instead of the taller and smaller ones. This mean that there will be more caramelized sugar topping as the surface area will be larger! The cold custard cream isn’t too jelat and goes really well with the warm sweet caramelized sugar.
All in all, I really enjoyed being there in Flavour Flings. The ambiance was warm and cozy. Food was decent and satisfying. The place will be great for an impromptu casual meet-up with family and friends as it is around my around, Hougang/Kovan.
I recently went to Suntec City Mall to try out ‘The Rotisserie‘. These are one of the most popular dishes on the menu, Roasted Chicken (half), Pork Knuckle, and Black Angus Beef Burger. Yet, since I can’t take in beef, I will not comment about it.
The portions were generously and I certainly couldn’t finish either of a whole plate. My main course was Pork Knuckle. Honestly, I personally feel that the meat was too red, and can be further improved. However, the Roasted Chicken was surprisingly amazing! Well roasted skin on the outside with tender moist meat on the inside
However, the Roasted Chicken was surprisingly amazing! Welled roasted skin on the outside with tender moist meat on the inside! For its price, I feel it is very worthwhile due to its portion size and location.
The winner deserves its glory! Here goes an individual shot for ‘The Rotisserie‘ Roasted Chicken! If you love to grab a cup of latte or a big portion sized Roasted Chicken with great ambiance and quiet surrounding, you should definitely try The Rotisserie @ Suntec City Mall.
My friends and I were looking for a good reasonably priced food cafe. We are quite budget one, so we like to go for economical but yet deliciously good. (don’t judge)
I found this cafe located in Bedok HDB neighborhood. Even though it is not really accessible, we decided to make a trip down as I heard good reviews about it. Keith G. was quite skeptical about it and was reluctant to visit the cafe but Michelle and I were so excited about it. He gave in in the end and came along with us.
I really loved the finished style of the cafe. It gave me a warm and rustic feel of the environment, which I think it’s great for a place to catch up with your friends over a cup of coffee.
As you can see, there were many people though it was drizzling outside. I regretted not making a reservation as we had to sit at the bar counter instead of a dining table, which I don’t really like because I can’t face-to-face interact with them. The cafe is bigger than those usual shophouse -style cafe as it utilizes two shops into one rather than only a single shop.
Me, Michelle and Keith G.
Seafood Aglio Olio
Michelle ordered their Seafood Aglio Olio. I don’t really fancy Aglio Olio but I tried her’s and found it quite tasty. I think that a good Aglio Olio should have a deep flavor of olive oil and garlic, which I think To-Gather did quite well on.
Grilled Chicken Chop
Keith G. ordered a plate of Grilled Chicken Chop. He found it quite dry to his liking even though I think it was alright. (I tried his and yes we exchanged some of our foods to one another so that we can try) Nothing special and I expected it to be average.
Italian Meatball Spaghetti
For me, I ordered their Italian Meatball Spaghetti. I think their sauce was just like any other tomato spaghetti sauce you will get in a restaurant but their meatballs were the stars of the dish. I love their homemade soft and garlicky meatballs. Expect your whole mouth to be simulating with the taste of garlic.
OMG, look at his arm.
I was daydreaming while Michelle took a picture of Keith G. flexing his muscles and showing it off to us. 😐
I heard that they are also well known for their molten lava cakes. Sadly, we were not able to try it out as we have small stomachs.
Overall, we are quite satisfied with our meal at To-Gather cafe. Prices were reasonable and the ambiance was relaxing. You can check them out at their website, prices are included with GST and service charge. (Main course price range from $7.90 to $11.90) In addition, they have student meal for weekdays 1 to 5 pm (N.A. during public holidays) which makes it even more affordable.
